Around Suwanee: Old Suwanee
August 29, 2008 by Carol Cranford
Old Suwanee Is a quaint park neighborhood in the heart of Old Town Suwanee. The homes are varies styles of the very popular Craftsmen Bungalow. You drive into Old Suwanee and have the feeling of a bygone era when families sat on their front porches and visited with their neighbors. All the floors plans have large front porches and many have balconies off the second story. The back yards have a fenced private patio area. There are both three and four bedroom floor plans in Old Suwanee. Each home has a small yard that is maintained by a professional landscaping company. Also reminiscent of a bygone area are the back alleys and garages so there are no garages visible to the street.
Live Well: Suwanee Farmer’s Market
August 29, 2008 by Carol Cranford
Every Saturday morning at 8 AM, local farmers and gardeners come to Suwanee Town Center Park and offer their fresh produce for sale. It is wonderful community atmosphere. People are exchanging recipes and explaining what certain vegetables are and how you serve them. Kids are helping mom and dad pick the families weekly produce, and everyone is just having a good time. The vendors are more than happy to share their recipes and knowledge about the fresh produce. Also for sale are fresh cut flowers for that Saturday dinner party, fresh herbs, and homemade jams and preserves.
