SMILE MORE! Suwanee Days celebrates its 25th anniversary on September 25th. Suwanee Days is a fun family day that always starts out with a morning parade and ends with a concert and fireworks in the park. The event will take place at Suwanee’s new Town Center Park. This year’s theme for Suwanee Days is Totally 80’s in celebration of the first Suwanee Days in 1984. There will be over a 100 vendors selling arts, crafts, jewelry and food products. All day long there will be free entertainment by local artists and our very own North Gwinnett High School drum line. There will many events for the children including inflatable rides and interactive games.

Live Well: Suwanee Farmer’s Market

August 29, 2008 by Carol Cranford

Every Saturday morning at 8 AM, local farmers and gardeners come to Suwanee Town Center Park and offer their fresh produce for sale.  It is wonderful community atmosphere.  People are exchanging recipes and explaining what certain vegetables are and how you serve them.  Kids are helping mom and dad pick the families weekly produce, and everyone is just having a good time.  The vendors are more than happy to share their recipes and knowledge about the fresh produce.  Also for sale are fresh cut flowers for that Saturday dinner party, fresh herbs, and homemade jams and preserves.

The Mighty North Gwinnett High School football team is ready to play hard and make it back to the 5A Georgia State Championship game.  The Bulldogs season will kick off this weekend, August 22nd, with a trip to Pelham Alabama to play the Panthers of Pelham High.  North Gwinnett will then host the National Football Challenge on August 29th.  This is inaugural event to bring teams from out of state to challenge two Gwinnett County teams.  Central Gwinnett High Generals will play the first game of the night against The Midland Buccaneers of Florida.  The second game starting at 9pm is Byrnes High, the 2007 South Carolina 4A champs against our North Gwinnett Bulldogs, the 5A 2007 state runner-up.
